Joyce Selznick

Joyce Selznick (February 12, 1925 – September 17, 1981) was a talent agent and casting director, and the niece to David O. Selznick, who produced ''Gone with the Wind'' in 1939 and founded Selznick International Pictures.
==Career==

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Selznick was raised in the Hollywood culture due to her uncle's legendary status as a film producer. During her lifetime, she became a prominent and well-known figure among actors, having discovered, among others, Tony Curtis, James Darren, and Michael Pare. She managed Kurt Russell, Brenda Vaccaro, David Hasselhoff, Joey Travolta, Ann Jillian, and Fannie Flagg. In addition to these she helped launch the careers of George C. Scott, Faye Dunaway and Candice Bergen.
She served as a casting director on thirteen films during her career, including ''The Buddy Holly Story'', starring Gary Busey, in addition to writing on three others. In the 1988 made-for-television film ''The Ann Jillian Story'', a film about Ann Jillian's life after she discovers she has breast cancer, Selznick was portrayed by actress Pam Hyatt. Selznick died on September 17, 1981, in Hollywood.
